Fair Oaks began its journey by investing in Collateralised Loan Obligations (“CLOs”). We believe CLOs are an effective way to invest in portfolios of higher quality senior secured loans to established borrowers. CLO equity strategies aim to generate attractive, risk-adjusted returns by investing in the junior notes of US and European CLOs. Our vehicles will often anchor new transactions, benefiting from structural and economic improvements and actions as a control equity investor. We have also been active investors at times of market dislocation. The strategy is currently implemented via a private fund, FOMC III LP (please contact us for more information). Fair Oaks Income Limited, a limited partner in FOMC III LP, is a London listed investment company.

Fair Oaks’ belief that CLOs are an effective way to invest in portfolios of higher quality senior secured loans to established borrowers, also extends to investing in higher-rated CLO tranches. CLO debt strategies provide defensive exposure to senior secured bank loans as they benefit from protection against initial losses in the underlying loan portfolios. Historically, CLO senior and mezzanine notes have experienced significantly lower default rates than similarly rated corporate bonds while offering much higher yields. The strategy is currently implemented via two comingled funds and separately managed accounts (please contact us for more information).
Fair Oaks launched the first European CLO ETF, which invests in AAA-rated CLO notes, pioneering a diversified CLO portfolio in an actively managed ETF wrapper to investors in Europe. Fair Oaks AAA CLO ETF is listed on Deutsche Borse Xetra (ticker: LAAA) and is expected to list on the London Stock Exchange (ticker: FAAA) soon.
